Gombe Health Center

This is a small facility that is located in the Traditional Authority Nsabwe. It is located 71 km from Thyolo General Hospital.


The facility was established many years ago and serves at least 13157 people living in rural areas of the region.


In addition to providing assistance to people from the Thyolo district, the facility also helps people from Mozambique as it borders the area.


The staff available at the hospital are Clinicians, Medical Assistants, Nurses, Health Surveillance Assistants, HDAs, to name a few.


The facility does not accommodate critically ill people, those in need of intensive care are referred to Thyolo General Hospital.

Pregnant women give birth at this hospital only if there is no serious problem requiring surgery. In the event of a serious emergency, they are referred to a major hospital.

Outpatient service treats patients who are attending facilities for treatment without a need to stay overnight.
