This is a small facility located at Mbawera. It is located 52 km from Thyolo General Hospital.


The hospital was established many years ago and serves at least 15519 people living in rural areas of the region.


The staff available at the facility are Clinicians, Medical Assistants, Nurses, Health Surveillance Assistants, HDAs, to name a few.


The facility does not accommodate critically ill people, those in need of intensive care are referred to Thyolo General Hospital.

Pregnant women only give birth at this hospital if no serious problem requires surgery. In the event of a serious emergency, they are referred to a major hospital.
